Come on out of the woodwork...

I saw somewhere that it is DELURKING week. As a major lurker myself, I'm trying to say hi and offer up to the internets my new find---Hyland's teething tablets. I think they might work for just about anything as I'm fairly sure they must secretly be a narcotic. The trick is that they are homeopathic narcotics. Give a few to a screaming baby who is trying to eat his own hands, and pretty soon he settles down for a snooze. I put a few under my tongue for good measure. I think a few with a glass of shiraz might be just what the doctor ordered.

What I'm getting at is I'd love to have some comments. Just say hi. Say anything. I'm dying to know who is from Encinitas, California. Anyone have any moving tips? Decorating ideas?I'd love to talk about countertops. What is the cheapest way to cover up butt-ugly tile from the eighties?

Hi! I'm a total lurker, here & elsewhere! I found you through suburbanbliss; I clicked because of your name (ellajohn), and put you in my faves after reading a bit. I'm a mom to a beautiful Ella too, as well as totally oya baka! And I'm not exactly in Encinitas but I do live practically next door, in Solana Beach. Are you moving here? Email me if you have any questions! Thanks for the chance to delurk and say "hey!" I'm gonna keep reading, 'kay? I wish I had the time to chronicle my kids lives too! You make it look so endearing...

Hey Monica,
How old is your Ella? Thanks for reading...and saying hi. No, I'm not moving to California, just to the next town over here in Appalachia. Of course you have time to chronicle your kid's lives. This one is mostly pictures with some occasional silliness thrown in..less than ten minutes a day. Thanks for saying hi.

Hey,
Tried to find a way to email you directly, but came up blank. I was curious about the Encinitas comment in your post, and also about Appalachia, interestingly enough. Thought I'd explore it with you off the blogosphere, but here I am rambling in comments instead.

Your being in Appalachia was a major thing that got me interested in reading your blog, because we are considering a move to Kentucky in a couple of years. I noticed that you moved from the west coast to about the same general area, and I wondered about your adjustment. I am freaking out in advance about how I might handle it (badly). I don't think I got much actual info. about your freaking or not, but did get a cute overload from looking at pics of your kids. I'm so horrible that I usually look at other kids and think "well, *mine* are cuter." Well, your kids? I was all "well, those are pretty darn close to perfect too!" My Ella is almost 5 (in April) and Charlotte-called-Charley turned 2 in September.

I also like your low-key blogging style. Not all "hey I'm trying to impress everyone." Just cute pics and interesting writing. I keep a website, for family & friends to check in with us, but it's mostly only pics, hardly a blog. A sole attempt at blogging left me feeling boring. So veryvery boring! So I scrapped it and now just envy other's blogging abilities. Like yours! 'kay, now I suppose I'm boring you too.

Take care!
